Another Great One

This one is similar to one I posted a while back (see here), as a part of my ever shades post (see here) or is it evershade? Maybe evershades? Regardless, I'm not sure why I didn't post this then. Maybe times have changed, maybe I was just listening at the right moment this time.

I don't normally listen to Adele or country music. Too many memories and thoughts that I'd rather avoid. My children don't hold to the same guideance however so the other day someone asked Alexa to play Hello by Adele, and it was this that hit me.

Hello from the other side
I must've called a thousand times
To tell you I'm sorry for everything that I've done
But when I call, you never seem to be home

And Some More

Those of you who follow this blog know I like to post some Great Lines, which I usually label (for some crazy reason) Evershades (see the full list HERE). Well, I ran across a few more. The whole list has to be in the hundreds. I should really thank all these great people for expressing my thoughts on my behalf.  (Truth? One of these posters is actually me, it’s my nomme de plume!)

This is from NIN Lyrics Bot (I can't imagine a better name!)

I can still feel you . . . even so far away.

I can't do better than perfection . . . but I might add . . . especially at nights! or especially when falling asleep.

Been a While Since the Last Evershade

I know, I know . . . it's been a while (a LONG while) since I posted any poetry or anything regarding these Evershades (see HERE). I've been working on a new series, Everyday Sox (see HERE).

BUT! I came across another couple and I just couldn't help myself in posting them and adding to this little series.

The first, is a part of that image. Isn't it a wonderful quote. I've heard it stated as "love is composed of two bodies inhabiting one soul" which is just as poignant, but I thought that little image up there was pretty good too.

One Last One?

For a long time I kept alive a series of posts,  . . . poems and lines that I found via other sources mostly, that helped me deal with different aspects of my life and challenges I was going through. I logged them all under the rubrick of Evershade Posts (see HERE).

I know I've recently closed down this thread but there always comes that time that you see that perfect post for a thread, and it doesn't matter if it's no long-running or not, you realize it has to be added.

Evershad-ed Even More

As I continue to add to this ever growing list of great, romantic, lines I catalog them here in my Evershade label (see HERE) and I think they're always worth reading again.

That being said, I've got some new ones . . . and I'm looking forward to reading them again too soon!

This first is from "Just Kate" which is a terrific profile name. And it's a terrific line.

In my heart we were a lifetime
In yours we were simply a moment

Ah, man! That hits me! Does it you? It shows the disparity between expectations.

Tiger-Tom via Top Shelf Bourbon Elf wrote this next one, and I can't agree with the sentiment more.

If you have to beg someone to be in your life,
They don't deserve to be there.

Damn skippy!

And finally, since these things tend to come in threes, I have this one from CoffeeCurves.

Just once
Show me
What a tender touch feels like
Just once
Show me
What it's like to keep your word
Just once
Show me
What it feels like to hold and be held
Just once
Show me
What it feels like when someone stays

Evershade, evershades , ever shade, ever shades, shades of Betsy

More for the Evershade File

So, I have a few more for that Evershade series I love so much (see HERE). These are super simple and sweet, but they hit me like all of the Evershade posts do, in just the right place.

This first is from Siren, who I have posted from before. A hug can be SUCH a safe place, and a hug from that favorite person in your life, you "other" can be so much more than just a hug. It can be an experience.

Sometimes your safe place is just a hug from your favorite someone.

Some More Great Ones

I've run into a few more great lines that I've cataloged into my "Ever Shade" label (see here) for posterity. They all come from the same aggregator, and I may have . . . "may" have . . . changed a word or two.

The first is apropos for this blog:

I fall in love with books more than people.

How true is that. I can think of hundreds and dozens of books that I've loved. I won't say the second half of that statement, but it's a truism aint it?

Exactly my State of Mind

As a part of the ever growing series with the Evershade label (see HERE) are these next few, I have to say these are pretty close to what I'm feeling, eerily close.

This first is a quickie, from Patti o'Malley, who I have never reposted before. But it's quick, easy, and feels about right.

More Ever Shades

I've fallen in love with these Ever Shade posts (see here), and really enjoy being on the lookout for new ones to post each week. Here's this weeks sample:

This first one comes by way of "austere" and she says:

Asking yourself if their feelings were real, will destroy your heart.

Adjustment Bureau Line Almost

I ran across a silly movie that I watched on a plane years ago. It's a Matt Damon and Emily Blunt vehicle, and honestly, I don't know how it got made. The writing is pretty standard, the story is silly, the scope is limited. The acting is good, but that's because it has so many good actors in it.

At the end of the Adjustment Bureau the two main characters who are in love have to risk their lives and their futures for each other and there's potentially wonderfully soliloquy on the verge of being delivered. It doesn't come. Instead there is a humdrum couple of lines about risk and love.

Always Hit Me

These always hit me. I read them and my heart drops just a bit cause someone is saying exactly what I think.

This first one is interesting. I like the rewind portion. Makes me think of pause. On our old VCR if you held pause too long it turned into stop.

Enjoy every moment you have.
Because in life, there are no rewinds,
Only flashbacks

Even More

No intro for these, they just say what I feel . . . see the rest HERE.

More Great Lines

Saw these and thought I would post them. If you haven’t been keeping up with these Great/Evershade lines/labels (see HERE) then you should go back and read em. They’re some wonderful little nuggets in here, and I think I’ve added about 100 posts or more, so tons of content. Enjoy!

This from Call Sign Siren. It's a great one.

Some hearts just feel like you've known them forever.

Isn’t this true? Some people you meet and BOOM you know you’ve known them your whole life and always will.

Shouting in the Wilderness

Feels like I'm shouting into the wilderness with these posts now . . . talking to no one . . . maybe this label group of ever shade has run its course (see here), but I saw a few more that hit me.

Fuck! Why is it that hard?

Bubbles

"Thin line between heaven and here."

Because of work, life, and school demands I have not had enough time to read for fun. I have still been writing for fun. In fact, I'm hoping to release a book of short stories soon, so my writing life is still going full bore. And I've started writing this blog again, so if anything, my life has changed positively for writing, but not as much for reading.

More For The Evershade File

So, anyone who reads this knows just how much I love these Evershade posts (see HERE). I go about my day looking for those things that speak to me . . . Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, books I read, Reddit. They're out there and they all speak to me. I love em. And I contribute my own to the universe and to this blog.

Princess Consuela Banana-Hammock, who has an amazing profile name, wrote about the best feeling in the world. We've all felt that haven't we? And when we do, it's like nothing else.

The best feeling in the world is to be with someone who chooses you every day, not just when they are in a mood.

The Series Continues

So the series continues (see HERE), the evershade labeled posts keeps moving forward. This time thanks in large part to Top Shelf Bourbon Elf (again).

First, from MolotovScotchTale (a great profile name), ther is this that is simple.

A Couple More Evershades that Caught My Eye

I ran into these and felt certain that I would need to share them as a part of my Evershade series (see HERE).

This first is from Sensual Words and goes quite well with the image above. And like the others in this post is a bit tweaked.

These Hit Me As Well

I ran across a few lines that hit me so much I thought I would share (like these). They come from a different source, anonymous this time, so I hope they don't mind me posting them. I doubt that they do.

The first I liked because so often water and waves and the ocean are used in analogies. Probably because it's something everyone can relate to and it never stops moving.

I was sand

you were waves.

Every time you inched closer,

you pulled away.

Even More From My Faves

It's hard to find titles and things to say about these (see more HERE), other than just saying that . . . wow these speak to me. all for different reasons, but these are those that hit me.

Eileen Jan writes this first . . .

Have no hesitation to unload those who didn't know it was a luxury to have your attention.

A "luxury to have your attention"  . . . what a wonderfully transient line. Well done Eileen for expressing my thoughts.
