Nightmare in Pink Cover

I'm sure many of you will find it odd, but there's very little these days makes me happier than going back and finding the pulp (and other) covers that are associated with he books I read. Naturally, when I say that there is "nothing that makes me happier" I'm being hyperbolic, if only because my best friend Sadie is around.

Having just finished John D. MacDonald's Nightmare in Pink (see HERE) I was very eager to get out there and see the evolution of the covers!
I did this same thing a few months ago with another of his books, and I loved the entire series it created. I'll have to start a new "labeled" series now I think (see HERE).

Regardless, I was not disappointed. The covers are just as much fun as the last time I played this game.

Having read the book, I have to say that this is my favorite. One of the main and pivotal characters looks exactly like this lady on the front. She's a hard one to imagine in the reading, so it would have been nice to have had this image from the cover while reading it. Not so much a fan of that hair do, but wowza, in this illustration, Nina is a bit of a fox!

This one took me a moment to grasp, but having looked at it some, I realize that they actually got a good bit of the story into this one image. Not the most interesting parts surprisingly, but still it's a lot in one image!
