Weekly Writing Status Update - 2

As I mentioned last week, Intuitive Writing suggests that we provide status updates on our writing on a regular basis. This can be done via writing buddy updates, updates to editors, or like I am doing it, writing blog posts that provide updates.

Last week I wrote about my work on my little welding novel, some chapter exercises, and some of my homework. This week, it will be mostly homework.

I like that in Intuitive Writing doesn't differentiate between writing for fun, writing creatively, writing for copy, writing for work, or even editing and proofing.

This week I did a TON of editing, proofing, and writing for work.

  • Just recently I read Will's 30K word proposal on relational aggression vs bullying in sororities, . . . especially in terms of conflict management and conflict resolution. It hurt my brain to review it. It was DEEP!
  • I also read Katie's conference proceeding proposal, just 3K words, on retail agriculture, ie. farming culture, on millennials. That's an interesting area.
  • I read Teddy's 5K word Literature Review on Faculty Developers and the changing nature of their work in Higher Education thanks to virtual classrooms.
  • I'm about to read Andrew's 20K words on first-year college students' lived-experiences, especially in terms of introduction to college classes.
  • Finally, I focused on my own homework a journal article on my virtual reality and emotional video study.
Not a great amount of work was done on the welding story. I did write a bit more, especially from the perspective of the bad guy, but as much as I wanted? No. BUT, when I look at all of the other writing/editing I've done, it's a TON!
