Graphical Abstract

There aren't a lot of time I like to toot my own horn, but this will be one.  A primary reason that I was so excited to get this last article published in Engaged Managment ReView was that I was able to include the graphical abstract which I've pasted below.

I had to make this graphical abstract as a part of the publication process and submission for the second journal I tried. I thought it was great. I've never heard of a "graphical abstract" but it makes sense right? It's a bit of an info-graphic. Packs alot of information into a very small space.

When the journal that asked for a graphical abstract declined to publish, I was a bit upset, in part because I really like this graphic. And Engaged Managmenet ReView doesn't require one. However, at the end of the publication process with Engaged Managment ReView they asked if there were any illustreations, figures, or images that I wanted to include.

"Why, yes! I happen to have the perfect image." They loved it.

Now, I will say, their publication process changed it just a tad. You can see that when you look at the differences between the two images. The bottom one is the one that they printed. I don't know why they had to make the changes, but it's still pretty solid for a home grown, "Dick-developed" graphic.

Very proud of that sucker! I don't do graphics often, this one turned out.
