I've finished my syllabus for my class. I think this is important because the syllabus is the first moment that the professor gets to put his stamp on the class. I was using a syllabus that came from Dr. B through Dr. C. I didn't care for it.
Step 1, . . . styles. No one uses Word styles correctly. Usually, that's the first thing I do. So the first stamp of Dr. Hannah that the students see will be Calibri. Then they'll see my nicely formatted tables.
I thought I was good to go.
But then I saw Andrew's. His is not styled like mine. We are completely different in that respect. BUT, he has me beat in many different areas. First, he has the standard policies and practices at the beginning. Mine are at the back. I think he's write. They're more powerful at the beginning. More meaningful.
He has a land acknowledgement. I refuse to do that. More on that later.
He has a great sample citation that I need to steal.
I think it's so fun to have someone to bounce things like this off of. I think that mine will be much stronger after I steal portions of Andrews.
