I Want to Go to This Cafe!

I’m great with deadlines I’ve found. I do NOT wait till the last minute. In these Master’s level classes we are always doing work in teams. I’ve found that in work that requires a team, I’m the task master and the leader, even if the team doesn’t want it. Imagine, since I’m reading this series, Hermione Granger. That’s me. When the assignment comes in, I do it. My papers are completed the first week the syllabus comes out, not the night before.

But this cafe (see HERE) would still be a great thing for me, or for those who wait till the last day.

My wife wanted to open a cafe. She liked the idea of a pet cafe. Not a cafe where you could bring pets, but a cafe for people who want to pet a pet without owning one. There would be a cat area, a dog area, a bunny area, etc. They do this in Japan I’ve read. You can rent a cat and go hang out and just stroke it. I’m dubious of the “cafe” part of it. I’m betting the wife will have a hard time getting the city health department to sign off on mocha making around a bunch of cats and dogs. Still, there are cafes like this out there.

Me? I want a cafe attached to a bed and breakfast or inn. I’m surrounded here in the UK by bed and breakfasts and guest houses. I want one for the introvert. You can come down, hang out, no one will bother you, if you want we will even just leave you a croissant and coffee at your door. No interaction required. If however you want to come help make breakfast, I’ll let you do that too. You can have as much (or as little) interaction as you want. I’m sure this comes from my grandparents bed and breakfast experience. I helped for many many summers and weekends, and it was fun. That pic up there . . . That’s the back porch. The room where I stayed summers, holidays, and weekends was the top right room in that pic. That porch? That’s a great hanging out when it rains watching the swallows dive porch.

I hate bed and breakfasts myself, the hosts always want to ask questions and engage. . . Blech! But, I love the independence and solitude that Air B&B brings. There must be a middle ground, and my cafe would be it.

This cafe, in the story linked above, it awesome because it allows you to work, but it charges you more if you don’t. LOVE that. I’d work my ass off there!
