Do Leopards Ever Change Their Spots? What About Stripes on a Tiger?

We've heard the saying, a leopard never changes his spots . . . or is it a tiger can't change his stripes? Which is it? I guess, after my slight google search, it's leopard.

Why does this have anything to do with my life?

Well, I had a friend who tried to come back. Why did she need to "come back?" Well, she ghosted me. I don't "do" ghosts. I don't like that style of relationshiop. Never have. The hot and cold, the on and off, the yes and no. I like pragmatism. So, when she ghosted me, I naturally, pushed her away. Quite harshly, yet still she persisted.

Then . . . as soon as she was back, she was gone again. Less than 10 days even . . . just 10 days after her "return" she was gone again.

My question? Why did she try at all? Why put any effort into it if all you're going to do is ghost and disappear again?

She was a squirrel. She used to call me that. She always said she was like a duck, water and problems just rolled off her back. Turns out she was much more a squirrel than a duck. I guess, like leopards and tigers, squirrels don't change their spots or stripes either.
