Started a new little book club and the first book is one of my faves. Agatha Christie novels are always among my favorites, but Death on the Nile holds a particular place in my heart. I think it was the first Agatha Christie novel that I ever saw, then read.
Now that they are remaking that movie, and although I didn't like the last remake of Murder on the Orient Express, I still look forward to seeing the new remake. I loved the original with Peter Ustinof and David Niven. I also enjoyed his Evil Under the Sun. So, this new remake has a lot to live up to.
I preparation for the movie, me and the book club are reading the book and comparing notes. So far it's a wonderful trip down memory lane. Slow and plodding pace, that refuses to move as fast as the reader wants. Lots of twists and turns, some needed, some blind allies. Fun fun fun.
The first line, isn't the best, but it's about the primary character, and certainly says a lot about her.
